I May Be Too Excited About Angry Badger Scientist

I want to see more of the Angry Badger Scientist from Power Girl #8. Angry Badger Scientist will be the Sensational Character of 2010, just like Cosmo was the Sensational Character of 2007.

Well, they'll be the Sensational Characters of those years on this blog, anyway. I can never figure out what the rest of you are going to find fascinating.

I need to know more about Angry Badger Scientist. Was it originally a badger altered to be super-intelligent, or was it super-intelligent from the start? Or is it a super-intelligent human brain inside a badger? That sounds like Satana's speed, but why would Angry Badger Scientist work with her then? Was Angry Badger Scientist always angry, or did it just have one bad day? What was it that really makes it angry?

What area of science is it an expert in? Being a badger, I'd guess soils or plate tectonics, though engineering isn't out of the question, since badgers know how to tunnel. Which means he could be an adversary for almost anyone. He could create nitrate-destroying microbes, or nanites, which would limit crop production*, so bring in the Atom to do some shrinky thing. Tap into magma vents and increase volcanic activity worldwide. Create a subduction zone over Atlantis or other undersea colonies (or cause seaside land cities to collapse into the ocean), and there's Aquaman. Angry Badger Scientist could tamper with bridges or train tressels to rob trains or bank trucks, if you'd prefer something less planet-endangering.

I'd like for Angry Badger Scientist to survive to the time period for Batman Beyond, tunnel his way into the cave, and deal with Old Man Bruce Wayne's dog, Ace**. Ace is tough, but one has to be careful when messing with badgers.

* Most organisms need nitrates, and many of them aren't able to convert atmospheric nitrogen into nitrates on their own. They need microbes in the soil for that.

** Having finished Brisco and Zorro, I'm working my way through Batman Beyond. Picked up the entire series for a song from one of Alex' coworkers.

I think that Amanda Conner just likes drawing badgers. I seem to recall an attacking badger in the background of the wedding of Ollie and Black Canary way back when.

Weird.

But yes, the angry Badger scientist is simply adorable!

sallyp: That means Amanda Conner has excellent taste. Badgers are great critters.
