Hypothetical silliness for today: If Parallax were to fall into the Marvel Universe, likely as part of some desperate attempt to escape the Earth Lanterns power batteries that serve as its prison, which hero would be most susceptible to its power?
I'm not sure myself, mostly because I'm not sure what the criteria would be. It was able to possess Kyle because he felt great fear and despair, but I was pretty sure it infiltrated Hal precisely because he didn't know fear, and wouldn't recognize its symptoms, or something.
It seems like Daredevil might qualify under the same criteria as Hal, although I suppose being without fear isn't the same as not knowing fear. I could see it being Spider-Man, because he has lousy luck like that. If Steve Rogers were still alive, I could see Parallax trying him because of his ability to inspire, and the reverence most of the other heroes seem to have towards him would make it harder to fight him. Captain Mar-Vell seems to be searching for something since he learned of his death that already happened, but hasn't happened to him yet (time travel, what a mess), and there might be something there related to his acute awareness of his mortality that Parallax could prey off of.

Would I get hit if I said The Sentry?
(Which could potentially lead to an awesome issue where Bob has to become The Void and stay that way, lest he release the Parallax-infected Sentry on the universe - a 'lesser of two evils' situation).
My guess, is that Parallax would look around at the results of Civil War and laugh his ass off. Then he'd go and work for the Thunderbolts, and or, SHIELD. Then he'd hang out with Tony Stark and gossip about the other heroes.
Well, following crossover logic I would guess he would possess Wolverine. Cause after all, Wolverine is "coolest" when he's killing everything that moves.
I guess the logic for the move could be, "After Wolverine's recent battles with the Angel of Death, his healing factor has been reduced and thus he may once again fear death opening a way for Parallax to take control."
On a semi-related note based on last week's Ultimate X-men.
If you are possessed and your body and powers are being used to fight your friends. How is it that you can still speak freely to shout warnings.
Shouldn't your mouth, lungs and diaphragm also be controlled. And wouldn't it better suit the villain to either keep you quiet or even have you declare your undying enmity.
Also from the hero side, if you can control your mouth and lungs, hold your breath until you pass out. Then let your friends take out the bad guys without your intereference.
matthew: We don't hit people here, and the Sentry is a good choice. He has all kinds of insecurities for Parallax to prey on, though I wonder if Parallax wouldn't get a little lost in there. Bob's mind is kind of a mess sometimes, though maybe that works in Fear Bug's favor.
sallyp: Gossip about the heroes? That explains why people are so unfriendly towards Tigra now, Parallax has been spreading lies! That monster!
seangreyson: That could work. With him getting all his memories back at once, Logan's mind might be as messed up as Sentry's, and you're right, his being easier to kill could, and knowing that for certain could spook him a bit.
As to the Ultimate X-Men, maybe Apocalypse likes watching them apologize to their friends for their lack of control? Also, I've never tried to make myself pass out, but it seems like it would be hard to do. Plus, could Apocalypse continue to make their bodies move even after they passed out?
Apocalypse getting a kick out of it actually made sense (but it kind of spoiled my joke (grin)).
The holding breath thing is very hard to do if you're just sitting still. If your body is in combat, but out of your control, it might make it easier. Also X-Men are all pretty disciplined individuals so if anyone could pull it off it would be them.
